Hmm, there are like 40 overclocking how-tos on this website. I'll try to find some and post back here.

EDIT:Here's the AMD one

You can find the rest of them here.

the motherboard i have isnt really good for overclocking, The CPU Multiplier option can be set from 5x through 13x while CPU Frequency can be keyed in directly from 200MHz to a top setting of 400MHz. CPU Voltage can be set from .800v up to 1.55v. cant mess with the memory timmings, The LDT Bus can also be set to 200MHz through 1GHz but now im lost should i even try messing with the ldt bus?

Those overclocking guides are a little out-dated. I wrote one for socket AM2 (what you have) that might be a bit more relevant: Socket AM2 Overclocking Guide. Let us know if you have any specific questions.

In that guide, what I call "reference clock" your motherboard calls "CPU Frequency". What I call "HT Multiplier" your motherboard calls "LDT Bus". An HT Multiplier of 1x corresponds to an LDT Bus of 200MHz, 2x corresponds to 400MHz, 3x corresponds to 600MHz, 4x to 800MHz, and 5x to 1000MHz, make sense? So if you set your LDT Bus to 1000MHz, it's not going to stay at 1000MHz when you increase the "CPU Frequency".

I think you can use Speedfan to control your fans...or you can just do what I did and get a fan controller. Got one from the local Fry's for $15 (Ultra 4-Fan) and when I am about to do something intensive, such as gaming, I turn all the fans up. When I'm just surfing the web or it's idling, I turn all the fans down. It's nice to have instant individual control over the fans. I have my intake, exhaust, CPU, and GPU fans all hooked up to the controller. The little 80mm side case fan I leave hooked up direct. Looks kind of cool, IMO, too. The knobs are blue LED.

im been trying to overclock my system but i can barely overclock it because orthos gives me an error but i think its my memory ram which is just 533 and that is my lowest setting in my bios. i try the short cpu test no problems but when i go to the blend i get an error. Am i right?

If so what memory ram do you recommend? another question my motherboard says it support memory ram until pc2-6400 buying higher than that its not worth right? even if i overclock it the memory should not go over that value
