Should we be concerned? (VTT anandtech article)

This was posted on our P5N thread by sirokket16 but didn't get much responses and I just want to see what you guys think. Currently my vtt is set to the highest setting, as recommend by the p5n32e-sli sticky that we have. However, according to this article this is a ticking time bomb

So far the only accounts I have seen or read about are only on the new 45nm CPU's. I have personally run my VTT at 1.55v on my E6600 for over a year now and haven't had any problems.

This might imply that the VTT should be set close to or at Intel's recommended vCore max for each specific CPU.

Nice find though!

That what I thought as well. Since the 45nm have a lower tolerance when it comes to voltage settings, then perhaps a higher vtt could cause problems in the long run. I'm still kinda of confused though. I thought 45nm quads didn't work on the striker or p5n32e sli.

That's just the chance we all take by overclocking. I'm surprised these pansies made such a big deal out of it like they had no idea why any component pushed WAY past its specs would burn out.

Well they were testing on the newer Striker II which does support those chips. Also you can run the E8x00 series on this board so its good to know for those with that combo.

True, but I think VTT is one of those unknown quantities. I mean you know it helps stability, but I havent seen an Intel doc with the max supported VTT.
