I see, thank you. It makes sense, but it seems to me like another reason to get ddr3
Also: is it true that it is harder to overclock ram that is, say 4x1 than 2x2 sticks?

Depends on the northbridge. When it comes to Intel, 4x1GB is better because you get better RAM. When it comes to NVidia, you're stuck with crappier overclocking no matter what. NVidia chipsets are effected by 4x1GB, but 2x2GB doesn't overclock as well because of the chips used in it.

Mine is pretty nice

Also I FAR prefer my higher bandwidth Ram than crappy old DDR2 I used to use.

Of course yours runs great, you've been been smothering it with your chest.

So 4x1 is better than 2x2 in every case?

Most of the time. NVidia chipsets (Asus boards especially) have always had problems overclocking with all four RAM modules.

You keep reminding me of a similar future rig I wanna build in Q3/Q4
