new HD not showing up in windows

Thread Starter
So i just bought a new hard drive and i went ahead and installed it. Its listing on the startup but when i log into windows it doesn't show under my computer. The 1st time i started up it said it found new hardware and installed it, then said it was ready to be used, but still doesn't show. It shows under Device Manager and it is working properly. What should i do to have it show up under my computer (D:\\ drive maybe?)

nope. there is a difference between ntfs formatting and actual disk size. any disk in windows will show up as less available space than what it is advertised due to the different styles of math used in hard drive manufacturing and formatting
