Does windows have a cache for desktop images?

Thread Starter
My aunt is in a bit of a pickle. Shes been doing a course in photoshop and she was working on a photo of one of our cats which she had set as her desktop background, she was just doing random stuff but then she accidentally saved over the image, with her being a rather novice computer user she didnt have a backup of it, so the only place the image is would be as the desktop, so I'm guessing this photo must be cached within the windows system somewhere, as to where I dont know, I was hoping one of the computer geniuses here would be able to give me some ideas as where it could be, obviously I'll look in the cache and the main windows folder but from there I would not know. Shes using vista.
