Abit AN8-32X driving me nuts!

Thread Starter
If I'm correct, this should be the problem and the first step to my solution. When I start up my computer, it stays on for a few seconds then completely shuts off. At times I am successful in logging into Windows but at times no. Sometimes it hangs just as it has passed all the BIOS stuff and is about to show the Windows loading screen. When I get into Windows(hopefully) I can use it no problem but when I turn my computer off, the cycle happens all over again. Turn off power, unplug PS, reset CMOS, take ram out, EVERYTHING! I'm fed up with this computer and I'm on the verge of forking out a big wad of cash to get myself a new one but I really hope to get this fixed. And if somebody believes its something other than the motherboard, please let me know. Much help appreciated. Thank you.

5t6n, have you tried testing with a different power supply? If you don't have one handy do you have a buddy that could loan you one for testing? If you have a multimeter you can check the voltages on the PSU to make sure the 12v, 5v and 3.3v are within standards. Here is the guide that I typically follow when doing this: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/guide...ing-guide.html

Let us know

Good luck
