FUD: AMD to relanch the 790fx board pictured - Page 2

I'm thinking this mobo won't suffer the same IRQ conflict issue that quite a few have had with SB600. Or so I hope..

I like how AMD's socket design where the heatsink is securely on and the board is kept straight rather than Intel's where you have to pay another 10 bucks for a backplate.

What i don't get is it says you won't be able to get crazy overclocks over 3ghz on the 9850 but it promise crazy overclocking? so 3ghz is the max point?

I'm sure some companies like Asus and Gigabyte will improve on the 4+1 PWM design which is the limiting factor. ... okay i'm not sure... but I hope so

You're right, it doesn't have enough colorful plastic and superfluous copper on it.

Might not be the final model. Considering how good the original 790X (see my gallery if you want a look) looks surely before release it will get 'prettied' up.

The coolers are smaller because there's not a lot of heat to dissipate. In addition to the hardware features that are moved off the NB as others have said, AMD's chipsets are manufactured on the most current manufacturing, 55nm, so the dies are much smaller and consume much less power. The 780G chipset with integrated graphics is also passively cooled. Intel's chipset, on the other hand, are usually made with manufacturing processes that is one generation behind, meaning that most chipsets are manufactured on 90nm or 65nm, so they are much larger and consume much more power.

if any one got a look at the foxconn F1 (p45) mobo, this one looks almost exactly like it.
