im running 1.45 atm, but if the temps were ok, and it was stable, id go all the way up to 1.6.

hell, it's only sand!

Yes, but that max is factored in due to the average life expectancy of a CPU compared to their warranty period. It sin't like running 1.56v will instantly kill your CPU. (well, not with 65nm, anyways) Those guidelines are set by Intel to creat an average operating condition. As we all know, it can be fun to exceed the limits once and a while

edit: I would also like to add: With the CPU's I have had, rarely does a voltage increase from wehat I consider safe to what I don't result in a higher stable OC. Usually, the CPU (or my ability, lol) has reached its lmit before temp/voltage comes in to play.

I stop at 1.50v as long as temps allow it, Intel increased all 65nm vcore max to 1.50v for a reason, live decreasage from xxx volts to 1.50v is almost nothing. Over 1.50v life decreasage probably starts going vertical.

What ever it takes to be stable at 3.6 and < 80°c, Q6600 that is.
That's been 1.42v-1.48v.
Suicide runs < 1.65.

I'm folding 24/7 with a 1.536 - 1.552 vcore and the highest my temps have gotten are 43C. It's fluctuating between those two. If you want proof of my temps, just ask.
My E6750 had to eat a lot of volts to go past 3.8ghz.

But for 24/7 I tried to keep it under 1.5v.

My quad on the other hand...has to eat upwards of 1.475 just for 3.7ghz.
I love my quad.
