Operation: TRUE Killa aka XIGMATEK HDT S1283

Thread Starter
Just got a couple goodies from Newegg and Petra's today. Included were:

XIGMATEK HDT S1283
Scythe Ultra Kaze 120x38mm 130cfm fan
Thermalright LGA775 Bolt-Thru Mounting Kit
Elbow Grease

Just finished lapping the XIGMATEK using 1500-->2000 grit. Its pretty flat to begin with and isn't horribly machined however I need it flat

More to come! Gotta mount the Bolt-Thru kit.

Where'd you get the elbow grease? And do they have headlight fluid too?

Would love to see your results. I'm especially interested in seeing how it'll perform when paired with a tapered Q6600.

p.s: Fanboys, refrain from making unnecessary comments please!

because the bolt kit is better than the push pins, and he probably bought the bolt kit or got it with his TRUE. The Xig only comes with push pins

Reviews show the Xig is better than the TRUE. So if he laps it'll probably be even better. I got a Xig but no mobo to test it on

Who called it?
Eh, maybe I'm just not good with this whole lapping thing, but wouldn't it be better if you got the entire bottom flat by sanding the heat pipes and the metal?
Because right now I still see some ridges.
