Operation: TRUE Killa aka XIGMATEK HDT S1283 - Page 12

Yea, if the one I linked will work, would rather get it since it's a few bucks cheaper. So, onlycodered, you used that one with a s1283? I noticed the one I linked was like an OEM or something, I guess it doesn't come with the top plate or whatever. Should I get the retail with that, or is that what you were talking about with removing the push-pins and just use that plate?

The Thermalright one never comes with a top plate. The LGA775 push-pin mounts already have perfectly-sized holes for the bolt-thru kit screws. You just take the plastic push-pins out and use them with the bolt-thru kit. Also, I think the Thermalright kit may be cheaper with shipping on Jab-Tech. http://jab-tech.com/Thermalright-LGA...t-pr-3605.html

Oh, not for me. After shipping, the one from Jabtech is about $4 more. So awesome, I think I'm going to go ahead and order one tonight. I really hope that will fix my temp issues...

It most definitely will. The HDT-S1283 is an amazing cooler.

So, question. How necessary is the Bolt-Through Kit? If I don't have bolt-through kit, will I phail? I plan on getting this cooler, and Xigmatek's VGA cooler with dual 92mm fans, this weekend. Then, next week some time, I will upgrade to the Super-Silent Noctua 120mm fan on the CPU, and to dual 92mm Noctua fans on the VGA cooler. Then, eventually, when I have $90 laying around, I will upgrade all of the case fans to Noctuas, and I'll paint them all UV Yellow or UV Orange to match my motherboard. Should be a sweet upgrade, me thinky.

It wont phail, however you are only limited to the pressure that the push pins can do. With a bolt thru kit you can adjust the pressure where you see fit.

It's made by Xigmatek so it's pretty safe to assume it will work flawlessly.

That looks EXACTLY like the TRUE's backplate.
