9600GT...are these speeds looking okay?

Hi all.

I have been overclocking my 9600GTs for most of the day (I'm going slowly...) and I have yet to hit any snags, beyond my initial ATITools/Vista issue...

This is making me nervous...so far, I am up to 765/1850/1000 with no reported errors and I don't see any artifacts. I even played Crysis for an hour...no problems. I have not seen many people who have gotten the core past 750...am I reading something wrong, or did I just get lucky? I just don't want the cards to burst into flame on me...(they are running at 66-68C under load, fan at 80%, so I even have a little wiggle room there.)

I am running in SLI, btw.

While I'm here (sorry for the scatterbrained questioning), if I have to choose between core, shader, and memory, which should I go for?

You are doing pretty well I'm at 740 core and 1085 MEM. So you are doing a little better then me on core but some people have up to 800. So you are fine don't worry.
bout the same oc as mine,
My core is 770, shader 1850 and mem 1100.
There's a guy whos managed 800 core and 2000 shader i think.

I have a 9600GT at the same clock speeds as you, but my memory is at 1050. It seems stable so far so that's where I'm running it. I got a special cooling edition from MSI and my temps are about 33C idle and 46-48 under load.

Depending on the card, 66-68C is fine. The high end 8800's run at around 65-70C, which is normal for gaming and that kind of stuff.

Core then Shader then Memory is what you should be after. Core and Shader will give you more of a boost than memory.

Replying to this question, I think it will all depend on what games you play. From what I've heard, in Crysis (and correct me if i'm wrong people) I would imagine you should get you core/memory as high as you can (while keeping stable and w/out artifacts)

Thanks for the info everyone.

Here is what I got for a final OC (I think...didn't see artifacts, but was getting errors when I pushed the core or the mem higher)

780/1950/1015

I am assuming those are pretty good...any tweak advice would be welcome, though. Will run it through 3dMark06 later on.

Just ran 3dMark06...my overall score ended up being 14,876. How is that? I plan to push my CPU a little further (3.4, hopefully), but the GPUs are maxed out.
