Wii, PS3 or X360? Read carefully - Page 6

The only comment I have is that in buying a PS3 you are paying for a lifetime of PSN as opposed to yearly payments for Xbox Live. So it's not "free", but also not nearly as expensive as Live. Good choice on the PS3. Your situation fits it nicely.

6) Largest online community, and it has the best games...Halo 3, GOW , GOW 2 coming out in november
I wouldn't normally bring attention to a post like this, but this thread is supposed to help the OP and what you're doing is almost backwards.

as said it's about 360/PS3 if you want to have the best player. both players play DVD's, not Wii, shush^^

You were buying a console anyways, correct? So it wouldn't be $500 just for one game...

do you like playing multi-player? coz then maybe you want an Xbox like your mates have so you can play with them.

i have a PS3 and a Wii, personally for GH3 i'd get it on Wii coz its cheaper, but i play guitar for real and have no interest in that game save for playing it at someone elses house who was willing enough to fork out $150+ for the bloody thing

im gonna comment on the PS3 and Wii only, coz i have them and therefore know the most about them.

the PS3 has the bonus of Blu-Ray support, a great variety of good games, the graphical advantage over the Wii, and is an all round perfect little media station. it does everything.

Wii's are a LOT of fun...if you have people round all the time. on their own, they can get boring pretty quick. its a bit of an effort to play sometimes, you always need to flail your arms and twitch like a drug addict to initiate some of the moves in games...but they're a lot cheaper and GH3 for Wii is like $40-$50 cheaper than PS3 version here in Australia.

Wii's dont have a whole lot of awesome download content like the PS3, but as i said if you have people around, Wii's can be hours of fun (with the help of a lot of alcohol).

another thing to consider...GTA IV is out tomorrow. it wont ever make its way to a Wii console, and imo its a must have game for any gamer. one reason you might want a PS3 or Xbox360.

the choice is yours mate. just take into consideration what you really want out of a console, is money an issue? do graphics matter? is the majority of your gaming going to be solo or multiplayer either online or with mates? things like that.

PS3, all the really good games on the 360 are going to come out on PC.....In fact, the only reason I wanted to get a 360 is for "Mass Effect" but now that is coming out on PC.

To make a long story short, the big hitters on 360 (Halo3, GoW, Mass Effect) are or will be on PC eventually, however the PS3 big hitters (MGS4, GT5, Little Big Planet, Uncharted, Tekken 6) will NEVER be on a PC.

In addition to that (yes I am a self-proclaimed Sony fanboy, deal with it) Sony has amazing customer support for the very few times that a PS3 would malfunction.
