[Project] Biohazard (Antec 900)

Alright, So I have been salivating at all these awesome A900 mods passing through and I decided that it was high time I started one of my own. I bought the case a while ago just as a spare (and hoping one day that I might be able to make something as awesome as some of the stuff I have seen)

So I will be doing the full monte' on this bad boy, the patented Cyber Druid cable mod, and painting the entire case matte black with some green highlights , I'm also going to use some green split-tubing to cover what I cant hide, (its like the red stuff, only it has not arrived yet) I'm also doing the green cathode route and ill see if I cant throw in a few biohazard signs too.

So I have received all the essential parts (finally) and more will be trickling in for the next few weeks.

I decided on green, partly because all my hardware is green and partly because everyone and their mom does blue...

The stuff that will be coming in is from all those boutique “case-mod” shops... you know, all the shiny stuff

Right outta the box

All naked and ready for some serious mod-age

My first biohazard sigh

I started by painting some of the smaller parts of the case, just to get a feel of what the green/black combo was going to look like... I like it!

I did the top fan as well... its not quite done, just testing it for "fit"

Those are the only two I have finished and installed... all the others are in the works.

Here is the first biohazard sign, all painted and ready to go!

And here it is on the case, keep in mind it will blend with the body of the case when I get that painted as well.

The naked beast!!!

More to come! I am still a far ways away from completion

Now for the fun part!!!

My dad owns a CNC shop so I have access lots of awesome equipment... such as this very old manual mill

Measure once, cut twice!!!

Go big... or go home Oh, thats my dad btw ^

Doctor, your patient is ready!

Two down, two to go!

Oops!!! ummmmm... the case kinda slipped

All better we just changed plans a bit and made that hole a little bigger, testing it for a fit here.

Measuring for the PSU hole in the bottom

We are doing this one with a jigsaw, time to drill the access points

Fitting the PSU, we made some more adjustments after this shot was taken.

All done for today... we will do the hard drive cage holes later

Testing fit with everything inside, I need to cut about three more holes...

Gone Forever!!!! Just need some duct tape and we will be set

Just a trial run, Im getting some 12" green cathodes and some green split tubing in the mail sometime soon so I will add those when they come.

I was also thinking about getting the Sythe "Kama Meter" for a fan controller, there is a black faceplate and a green screen setting that would match perfectly.

Next up is to add the management holes on the hard drive cages, I have some right angle sata cords and some sythe hard drive mounts coming as well.

You caught me in the middle of posting!

I plan to do a little more cutting, flip the hard drives and add the new sythe mounts. Once I make sure I have all the holes cut that I will need in the foreseeable future, ill do the painting of the entire case. I have an eggshell black that I am thinking about using for the frame and I have access to an airbrush but no artistic talent to speak of... so suggestions are appreciated there

I have the green lighting coming so ill just play around with that a little, and I want to put a fan controller in as well.

I'm putting new feet on the case to keep it a little further off the floor for venting purposes and I'm using the split-tubing to cover any cords that I cant hide. (The video card power and a lonely sata cable are the only things I can see right now)

Any other ideas would be highly appreciated to make this case even more awesome!!!

Yeah I was expecting a lot better, but either way it was a decent job.

Lol yeah... they are actually not bad now, I took these as action shots like half-way through the cutting, I put some rubber grommeting around them too. Ill take some shots later when I take everything out again, it looks pretty clean.

It was actually really hard to get the cuts without destroying the case, we could have drilled through the grommets and laid the motherboard tray inside a CNC Mill... but that just sounded like too much work

I wanted to keep the case whole, so the way we did it was to do dry cuts (no coolant) with a 5/8" drillbit, we just screwed the thing down to a piece of wood and let her rip
