[Xtreview] ATI Radeon 3650 in AGP 8X - Page 11

I love these threads. They always bring out the cry baby pci-e flamers.

Why does anyone even give a hoot if ATI or Nvidia choose to release new cards for the AGP slot? As long as they continue to produce new cards I sure as heck don't.

BTW, I have three running computers that are P4 AGP slot. They serve my family quite well with no issues at all. My kids use them for school work and on line 2D games and a little 3D. I have a wireless network setup and the extra storage is nice to have.

I've thought about replacing them all with new tech but why? They do what we need them to do.

Anyone is allowed to make anytype of comparision, being a reasonable and fair comparision is another story.
You don't know much about cars, or what? Coupes are compared to sedans all the time, and AWD cars are often compared to RWD, MERWD and FWD cars. Just because two things are not of the same design does not mean they cannot be accurately compared (although there is admittedly quite a bit more human error when it comes to comparing cars than processors or graphics cards), or even should not be compared. How else would we know if one design (or specific model) is better than another?

Your method basically suggests that we can't compare the Athlon or Phenom series to the Core 2 Duo lineup simply because they're two different architectures. That makes no sense - these things are all designed to do the same thing, and therefore can and should be compared in order to determine which is better.

Troof.. but then again its like trying to compare ATI and nVidia just by clock speeds.. Undo-able

But no one tried to do that. They were comparing them based on performance and price. I don't see the problem there.

And that's a reason to bump an 8 month old thread?

I used to be an AGP supporter but now I have to say let AGP die already. Stop bumping these old threads.

lol i thought it was "overclockthestock" doing this crap again.... i wonder if the admins can make non sticky threads automatically lock after 3 months of no posting. the thread would still be there to search for and answer questions but no more bumping ancient threads!

In that case, you should've made a thread in the graphics card section instead of bumping this
