Out of curiosity, what was your bad experience with ATi?

Yes, I do much more than just gaming.
I have thought about updating my rig and I appreciate your advice, but
I'd rather buy a totally new computer. This one is outdated in every aspect.

Don't just give up on it like that! That's part of the reason you don't have a Dell instead of what you have now. Just upgrade what needs upgrading; that's the beauty of it!.

YOU --> <-- PC

Me too

If you can afford a 9800gx2, you can afford a new mobo, ram, cpu and GPU.
Plus you would *so* need a new PSU for even an 8800gt, let alone a gx2.

I couldn't play any of my Splinter Cells (first and fourth (Double Agent)) and after updating four times the drivers the things were still bad.
I had GeForce for some time, but then my mobo broke down, it had a warranty, so, it was taken to be fixed, but the technicians were more stupid then me (15 years old boy in Estonia) and replaced the video card and made XPress recovery for mobo. Then I got this ATI HD 2600 PRO, which is a total crap.

I believe ATI is very good, but I personally just don't like it.

Have you tried overclocking your 2600? Was the game better with your GeForce? Why in the name of god they replaced your video card when your mobo broke down?????

ME = Totally agree
MY DAD =

Lol

If I lived on my own and had my own budget I would invest every little penny in my computer (glad that I don't live alone).

Lol I have to consider upgrading with my dad, but until that miracle happens let's stay at choosing a video card.

So, would GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB be a good idea?
What about then if i would overclock my CPU
