Gigabyte P35-DS3L or EVGA 650i Ultra?

Thread Starter
I'll be running the e2160 most likely, hope to upgrade in the future but that may require a more expensive mobo (I know the ultra supports wolfdales but may want to SLI later on so that doesn't ensure ugradeability).

DS3L is 89.99 and Ultra is 69.99 - 20 MIR for 49.99

Open to other suggestions, just trying to put together a nice setup that I can expand out of one part at a time in the future.

Going with the obvious route most likely, gts g92 (wanted to go w/ ATI but I'm a fan of AA, i don't like my power lines lookin' like they were built out of legos.)

(EDIT)
Crap, the DS3L is the ICH9 southbridge, no RAID. The Ultra states that it supports raid, does anyone know if it has a decent southbridge cooler? Looking to overclock as much as possible... and would like RAID 0 support.

Well, if you want to RAID and use SLI, you're not going want the DS3L. The Gigabyte board is solid and I endorse it thoroughly, but it just don't support those features. If you decide you don't need those, then you will be on your way to great, stable overclocks with the DS3L.

Just a note, you could get the Gigabyte-P35-DS3R if you just need RAID and not SLI. That board overclocks at least as well and supports RAID.

650i seems to be just OK
ds3l is very basic but does what it need to VERY well. OCs very well, solid build and Ive had good experience with gigabyte customer service.

I haven't heard anything about the 650i Ultra, but the ds3l is a proven board so I would go with that one.
