Upgrading from PNY 8800 GTS 320MB

Thread Starter
I have the PNY 8800 GTS 320MB.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133193

What would be the best upgrade for the money to gain the most performance gain? I would like to run Age of Conan and other games on high quality.

Thanks for the replies.

8800GT/GTS 512MB/9800GTX are all great cards. 3870x2 would also do well. Any of those should run everything basically maxed on the resolution you are running on that 19" LCD.

8800GT - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=PVT88PYDF4

Use "PVT88ST" to get $10 off.

What's your budget?

Edit: I did some more research and the best card solution for $300 is 9600GT SLI. According to this benchmark it out performs a 3870X2 which is more powerfull then a 9800GTX.

Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134038

Two of those cost $279.98 and you get a $25 MIR so it comes up to $254.98

The 9800GTX performs worse than the 8800GTS 512? That is surprising. Im all confused now.

No the 9800GTX outperforms the 8800GTS 512MB it's just not listen on the chart I posted. But it would come right behind the 3870X2 if it were on that chart.

The 9600GT SLI is the most cost effective solution because even before rebate it's under $300 and with rebate it's around $260. What if he doesn't have the extra money to spring for a 8800GT SLI and wait for the rebate? Plus the 9600GT is only 3FPS behind the 8800GT SLI in the chart.
