I need a good 4GB (2 x 2GB) Kit

Thread Starter
Currently, my eyes are on: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227269
But, the CAS latency is 5 and the timings are 5-4-4-15.

Can anyone find a better memory kit? (Looking for a 4GB (2 x 2GB kit)
It doesn't have to be at Newegg, any site works for me!

Thanks!

Thats some good memory but this is a bit better.

You'll probably be able to run @ 1066 no problem.

Will the 5-5-5-15 timings make a difference?

you can probably clock them to CAS4 without a problem if you run them at DDR2 800 speeds

Also these are really nice: I have 8GB of these things and they are godlike http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148183

I have these and the highest I can get them stable with 5-5-5-15 is about 1100. With 2.1v or less. Anything above that and I tend to fail out memtest.

The other version of the ram for $130 or whatever is suppose to clock higher.

I have not been able to get them to run at cas4. Even as low as 840mhz they still wont even boot into bios with cas4 but I am not too worried about it. With the current intel offerings the timings dont mean too much at all. The mhz is what matters more.

I'd have to agree, these modules are awesome and are a sweet price.
These are even better, but the price IS higher: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166
They're great for overclocking and are exceptionally reliable. And if that doesn't convince you, check out the feedback rating for them by the users on newegg, you can't get much better than that!
