New Computer (Sick of this laptop..)

Alright, so short story short I killed my old desktop which I had for about 3 years anyway (was complete crap, 512mb DDR ram, AMD processor at 2.08ghz unclocked. I forgot the 2800 number thingy. GeForce FX5200).
I tried to overclock it and jumped the FSB up about 200 higher than it originally was, never posted again ^_^ I tried to clear the cmos/bios/whatever but I got mad and tore it apart and sold the parts to friends.

Okay~! So my new build is going to cost LOTS, All thanks to the crappy NZ prices. In no way am I rich, its just 4 birthdays and christmas presents worth of money and I managed to talk to mum about giving it to me all 4 years early.

I want the absoloute best I can get for $3200, hardware + OS(x64 home prem) + keyboard/mouse + monitor(22" wide). Everything for a max of $3200.

Motherboard: XFX 780i $422.05 Microstar P7N SLI Platnium 750i $314.15

CPU: Intel Q6600 G0 stepping (Going to OC to 3.6 if possible) $333.55

CPU heatsink: Zalman CNPS9700 NT $105.25 TRUE $116.45

Ram: G.Skill 2x1gb 1066 DDR2 x2 $125.55 ea G.Skill 2x2gb 1066mhz $264.95 or G.Skill 2x2gb 800mhz $171.75

Graphics Cards: XFX 8800GT 512mb Zalman fan x2 in SLI $353.95 ea XFX 8800GTS (G92) Aplha Dog Edition $460.45 (Might get two if I can afford it, and still wondering about the HD4870)

Hard Drives:Seagate 7200.10 160gb $70.65 + Seagate 7200.10 320gb $100.45 Seagate 7200.11 500gb $134.85

Powersupply: Silverstone ST85F 850W $267.45

Case: CM Stacker 832 (I'd like to get a bunch of fans to take up all fan slots, dont know if the Zalman has problems with the side door four. Fans) $399.45

DVD drive: BenQ DW200S $65.55

Monitor: AOC 210V 22" Widescreen $350.25

Mouse & Keyboard: Mouse $84.75 + Keyboard $59.65

OS: Vista Home Premium 64bit (Don't really need a link for this ^_^) $155.05

Current Total = $3218.75 with the 800mhz Ram and two 88GTS's.
If I can change the mouse/keyboard/PSU/Monitor for something cheaper and just as good, I can get either the 1066mhz Ram set or preferably some fans.(Fan)

I won't budge with my choice of Case or OS =D everything else I'm willing to change. Right now the total cost probably doesn't amount to $3200 maybe over, I might be able to push for $3300, but I want to stick close to $3200.
I think the mobo needs to be changed, because I don't think I'll go tri-SLI anytime soon.

I'd love for this build to last for 3-4 years and still be able to play new games (unless they bring out another beast like Crysis -.- lol)
Once I get the parts sorted out, I'll go post in the case section looking for fan setups.

Ideas/Opinions? Any better/cheaper parts I could get instead? (from c1com.co.nz only ofcourse)
Also, this is kind of my first computer I'll be building. Is it ok for me to build it myself? Or pay c1com $45 and they build it for me? xD

$3200 budget? You can have the best, but be sure check out Tigers and Neweggs price..they seem to be cheaper for the hardware ur posting.

I suggest building a $2000 computer and saving the rest. You won't be doing yourself any favours by spending a lot more.

Motherboard: GA-EX38-DS4 ($305)
CPU: Q6600 ($285)
Cooler: AC Freezer 7 Pro
RAM: 2x2GB DDR2-800 XMS2 ($166)
GPU: ATI HD3870X2 ($709)

Just some suggestions. You can add a HD3870 or even a HD4870 to the mix whenever

PS: I am SO glad I don't live in NZ.

I'm stubborn and would prefer to get everything from the same website(c1com.co.nz prices might be a little higher than other NZ websites, but I've dealt with c1com before and like them) ^_^
Though I'll probably buy the extra fans from overseas as they're sure to have better quality ones.

I also wanna stick with nVidia unless an ATI will blow the pants off two 88GT's in SLI (I've got Crysis in its box waiting to be unleashed )

I'd strongly suggest waiting another 2-3 weeks for the HD4870 to come out

Do you really, really want sli, alot of games don't support it fully, you may be best going for a single 8800gts or 8800gtx.
Also, ditch the Zalman. Its not that good. Get this instead - http://c1com.co.nz/shop/step1.php?number=13249 it pwns all.

I was thinking about getting a 9800GTX, but 2 guys (all who posted, mightve been 3) said 8800GT's in SLI would be better. SLI isn't a 100% must, I just want it to play Crysis on high, no or low AA/AF (I don't think I'll need that? lol) smoothy. If it can do that then I'll be happy cause then it can play any other game xD

I'll probably end up having to wait 2 weeks - a month before I make a final decision on everything. What's so great about the HD4870?
