Im pretty sure the power swith is plugged in the right place, and even if its not in the right place, i tried like literrally 10 different places so i dont think the 0ppower switch is the casse.

there is a power led on my mobos (both of them)_ and theyre both on when i plug the psu in

i have two psu, one of them is a enw generic one and the other is a fairly old ond booth 350w and 480wt, and from my tests, theyre all working perfectly.

how do i do a cmos reset thing? does the computer have to be on to do that? cos the problem is that it cant turn on. o_o

fine then, ill be intel;ligent, these are the pins that which my power button can fit into they all look liek these....

1st one which im pretty confident is the one that ist for the power button looks like (o = pin # - empty spot)

ooooo
oooo#

2nd one is anotehr one that looks the same but is in like a cageish shape thing not sure how to describe but doesnt look like ur normal power button switch, but i tried plugging it in anyway

ooooo
oooo#

3rd one ism a bigger one which im really sure isnt the ppower button one but tried it anyway

oooooooo
ooooooo#

4th....

oooooooooo
ooooooooo#

and 5th... (i tried this roughyly, but not everypin)

oo#oo
ooo#o

from what ive learned in grade 2, if i tried everyone of those pins with my power button thing, im pretty sure thats abit over 10, maybe even 20? so i dont think 10 is anywhere near exeggeration of 20, sounds like underxeggeration to me xP <----- from grade 3 = right fact!

Was it unplugged originally, or did you unplug it and start at it?

no, your computer needs to be off to reset CMOS. check your manual to find the right jumper / procedure on your mainboard. you probably need to pull the battery from the mainboard, move the correct jumper, wait a few seconds, move the jumper back, replace the battery, then youre done.

You can do a CMOS reset with the power off. Just move the jumper that says CMOS reset over one, then wait for 10 seconds, then put the jumper back where it was. You may need your mobo manual to loacte the cmos jumper.

you can also damage your mobo by putting them in the wrong places so DONT!!! only put it in the one your sure is the right one, look online if necessary for a labelled diagram of your board if you dont have one yourself
