im running at 3.0 stable now, have tried to set the voltages low, to get low heat, as the water is fanless, zalman reserator.
im running 8gb of mushkin ddr2/8500 on 1066, with settings given on theire own forum.
i would apreciate all input on the best settings to run stable with low heat.
Welcome

Go HERE and setup your sig rig.

You should take some pics of your rig and let us see your sweet water setup. Also let me know what vcore you are at.

No not all VID's are the same mine is 1.1875v The lower the better. Just means less power to keep it stable, so to speak. As for your RAM, not all to sure what is up there, but i know that you 2x the Mhz because its DDR2. I'm running 533 so if I 2x that it come out to 1066.

im testing 3.33 now, on 1.2 vcore, does that soundok?
anyone have suggestions on the other settings at the bottom off the screen in bios? southbridge, northbridge, etc, etc. what is the safe area for running a speedy but durable machine?
and does anyone have any suggestions for software to use under ubuntu? i prefer with gut.
have set the discs to ACHI now, it seems to make the respons off the machine snappyer.
will come back with results on the OC.

Hey Guys, I'm the new kid on the block, I just installed a Q9300. Upgraded from an E8400 @ 3.8GHz on a EVGA 780i to my current setup of a Q9300 w/ ASUS Rampage Formula. Check my sig below for my new setup. I posted a pic of my Q9300 OC'd to 3.0. I'm going for 3.3-3.5GHz, but only time will tell.

Welcome!

3.0Ghz @ 1.25v is a little hight in my book, I am running it at 1.175v just fine. But it all depends on your VID, and the lower the better. Mine is 1.1875v. I'm sticking with 3.0Ghz for now, I don't see the need for more than that right now.
