I forgot to add, my 1.3V in bios translates to CPUID voltage of 1.275 idle and 1.24V load.

Maybe a little late to throw in mine, but I'm currently finding my stable top end.

If you can't read it, I'm currently at 2.85Ghz@1.152V.

Currently I have my Q9300 stable at 3337 MHz w/ a VCore of 1.2750 in the bios, 1.256 in CPU-Z. I have had some luck going to 3.6 GHz, however, was not able to make it stable.

Anyone else been able to get a stable 3.5 GHz clock ? And if so, what were your Bios settings ?

I personally like my EVGA 780i, but it's what I know and the brand that I trust the most. Now with the new P7 BIOS update I have seen more boost from my Q9300. I don't know how well other MoBo's are supporting the new 45nm chips, but EVGA is on the Ball as far as I can tell.

Hi all, just bought a Q9300, 2x 2gb OCZ reaper DDR2 800 and Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L, but I think I must have the worst proc out of everyone here. VID in core temp is showing as 1.2375, I can only get it stable @3GHz using 1.3v vCore in bios, no matter what I do it wont go past 3GHz
At lower vcores or using auto I get random freezes either while booting or using windows. I have tried increasing mch +0.1v and replacing northbridge TIM but no success.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I'm currently at 3.3 GHz on my Q9300 / P5E.

BIOS (v.0702):
FSB freq.: 440
VCore: 1.275
NB volt.: 1.27
Loadline Cal.: Enabled
CPU GTL ref. 0.61x
NB GTL ref.: 0.63x

Everything else is on auto..

Have only done a brief stress test (1h OCCT) for quick stability and to check temps which are stable around 50-55'C (RealTemp, Ambient 27'C). Will do a thorough test tonight with Prime95.

Vdroop seems remarkable stable. Vdrop is 0.019 (after pencil mod, 1.256 in CPU-Z). VID in CoreTemp: 1.1500.

I was wondering whether there are any settings that would tweak my system's "health" considering I'm trying to have this clock 24/7.
I've enabled Loadline cal. and bumped CPU/NB GTL ref. - just because the system rebooted immediately after starting Prime95 with the values on auto (took the settings in the first post -1). But I really don't know what any of these settings, or any of the other in bios, actually do

Should I just be happy with these settings if it turns out stable, or do you have any simple tweaks for care?

PS: My memory settings are also on auto;

CPU-Z:
440.1MHz
1:1
5,5,5,18
2T

Thank you in advance!

I have the same VID as you and mine is capable of 3.2ghz at 1.314v showing at idle (1.26 load). When you set in bios what do you see in windows?
Edit: Also check your memory timings and settings. Several straps on my board do not work with my memory b/c it tries to run it much faster then needed.
