Ok, at the moment I'm at just over 3 ghz by like 2 MHz and I've increased my ram bus to 533 giving mr 1066 all in, when I did this I found I could raise the CPU fsb without it been unstable, will try again tonight by dropping ram to 400 and trying to creap up the CPU speed. I'm wondering if this board will let me go much higher.
Is it worth while putting a voltage in for CPU at this stage or just leaving it at auto?

i dont know how your board is handling the voltages.. i can only tell you that my 9300 was running on 3.0ghz with auto / no vcore increasement and was stable.. everything higher towards 3.3 .. 3.5 etc needs a vcore increasement.. at least on my mobo

hi
i had my 9300 stable at 3.6, but that took a lot of work.
3.0 should be a walk in the park, just up the FSB, set the ram to a divider that works well, and of you go. i always set the ram manually, all the settings, to ensure it runs as it should.

Thx guys 3 gig was indeed easy aswell as getting the ram to 1066 though at the minute my divider ratio I think is 16:12?
400fsb x 7.5 3ghz total 1600 qdr
ram is 400 x 2.66 multiplier to 1066

my cooler is an akasa evo blue and as it cost 40 squids it should be ok for a moderate oc , I hope!

When I'm home later I'm gonn drop the ram
to 800 and try raising my fsb a tad but for me I'm gonn have to get to 450+ to get 3.4 ghz, will have a go anyway!

To be fair tho just by getting my ram and CPU to current speeds I've noticed I can max out mw2 and nearly crysis, however I'm running 1360x768 on a 42 LCD so don't know of this is harder work for gpu to do this size screen!

Will post back later

cheers

Ok I managed to get to 3.3 ghz last night and ran upto test 8 in prime95

I was using a CPu fsb of 440 x 7.5
and ram multiplier of 2.00 giving me 840 MHz ram
I also upped the vcore volts to 1.3 and set mch to 1.2
seemed stable until more rigorous testing in prime 95

getting carried away I upped the ram multiplier to 2.33 I think giving me whatever 440 x 2.33 is lol whch it didn't like and wouldn't even post

I now have to flash CMOS to get back in to the settings before the post error.

My temps at full load were on one core a max of 73 degrees otheres were about 67 - 68

to be fair a jump from 2.5 to 3.3 is more than enough for a noob like me so If it's stable I'd be happy, however I would like to get a bit more from me ram as it's rated to handle 1066 aswell, any tips on getting the ram running a bit faster without crashing as above??

I can post bios settings if anyones up for the task as I'm not to hot on ram timings which I suspect may of been my crash reason unless it was the dram volts?
Maybe some tighter settings at 880 MHz would give me near 1066 anyway?

I did notice that my mch or nb was quite warm to the feel is this normal? I think it's only set to 1.2 volts

any help welcomed

cheers

can u post ur exact settings?
i can try to make some suggestions then...

but i´ve got another big problem.. i am at 3.7 ghz... 3.5 was stable, 1,5v nb and 1.6dram v.. vcore is at 1.352 at idle and 1.32 at 100% load. VID=1.2 ,LLC/ cpu spread is disabled.. ratio is 1:1, timings are 5-5-5-15, strap to NB is auto.. prime small FFTs is stable.. the other 2 are bugging after 5min , so i think its not the vcore. it should be a ram setting. anyone got a quick suggestion or should i make a picture of my settings? ty..

ill try to fix it by myself in the meantime

cheers

OC'd mine to 3.0 on stock cooler with no change in temps. Just changed FSB to 400 mhz. Gonna get it higher once I upgrade my CPU cooler.
