You shouldn't have a hard time reaching 3.0ghz. All I did was up the vore by 1 notch and left everything on auto and I was able to get 400fsb stable w/o a sweat.

From your sig, I think you have two different rams. This might make it harder for you to overclock. Look into your ram settings; timing, frequency, and multiplier, and you should be able to overclock more.

I have tried 1 stick of ram 2 sticks even 2 of the 800 and 2 of the 1066. when i over clock this is the only stable set up that worked. 4gig kit ocz dual channel ocz2g10662g and a 4 gig kit gskill f2-6400cl5-2gbpq. at stock speeds i can run either of the kits but if i overclock i found a combination of the 4 sticks would actually let me run stable. Crazy isn't it?

Wow, how are your temps so low? I have stock cooling and am getting like 70 during gaming and like 51c idle...I think. I will have ot check the idle. Either way, is 70c during gaming dangerous????

Can anyone help me out with my OC please. Q9300 @ 3.4GHz but cant seem to get any further. Has anyone got experience with GTL Reference as I think it may be the key? My thread is located on the forum here http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...st-3-2ghz.html

i just bought a q9300 today cant wait to see how far i can push it.
I'm thankful that my mobo has an ez overclock switch (how I got to 3GHz), but I can't find the right combo to get me to that point of around 3.2 - 3.4. I know I can get at least 3.2 with air cooling. I just need help as to knowing what I need to turn up.

There are a few of the settings that I'm not sure what they mean, such as
CPU GTL REF0
CPU GTL REF1
NB GTL REF
VTT FSB

First, I would like to know how these voltages are related. Second, I would like to know which ones i need to change. My mobo has the following voltages to change
CPU VOLTAGE
CPU GTL REF0
CPU GTL REF1
NB GTL REF
DRAM VOLTAGE
NB VOLTAGE
VTT FSB VOLTAGE
ICH VOLTAGE

Any, and I mean ANY advice would be amazing. Thanks

And please allow me to be a member of the q9300 club.

They're complicated to explain in one paragraph. Use the search button and there are several threads relating to each subject.

You'll likely leave most of the settings on auto to achieve high oc'ed. CPU volt, DRAM volt, NB volt, and VTT FSB Volt should be your main focus if your planning to reach 3.5ghz.

I think my memory is linked with my CPU, since when I up the CPU FSB, the memory freq goes with it.
I'm stuck at 3.0. Here are my current settings:
CPU FSB 400x7.5 @3.0GHz
DRAM Freq # 1100
CPU voltage (vcore) 1.189
VTT FSB 1.21
NB 1.11
DDR 1.75

I dont really know where to turn or what to turn up.
Once again, any help will be appreciated
