Anyone got a p5q pro turbo?
Good work and good processor! can you tell us your voltages and bios tweaks in order to reach that IMHO great results???
I have a P5Q... didn't remember if there's a lot of differences between those mb. Are you in air or liquid cooler? processor revision? regards!

hi guys,

I just rebuilt my system again and want to do a minimal OC to 3.0 Ghz but when I changed the voltages to stock spec my system would not even post and allow me to go into bios. I had to clear cmos to boot again. Also, there is an option that allows me to select 20% OC and leave everything in Auto but it would not post either. What should I do? Thanks

It is hard... The P5Q Pro Turbo are missing advanced GTL tuning for Quads. It only has one GTL setting, with limited GTL mutlipliers.

So at 3.5GHz you've already achieved a good clock in that mobo. I doubt you are Prime95 Large FFT's stable at 466FSB in that board, however it will probably be stable for everything else.

Only way to push that CPU in your board is to go insane on the FSB Termination Volts. People say that going past 1.4 volts is dangerous for the CPU if 24/7. I've been running stability testing at 1.6v + in my P5Q Pro Turbo/Q9400 combo with no problems.

Do this at your own risk though.

Apparently I am OCCT stable for 24+ hours and Prime I only did up to 12. But I will keep this in mind, I think I am being bottlenecked by my processor when I play CS promod (source engine) because my gpu usage never goes above 50 and I still get fps lag.

Do you think my Asus Rampage Formula can do the trick? my PSU is ATX 2.2 550W, but i dont think my stock cooler can go above the actual 3.0 Ghz, as i live in Brazil, a bit hot country...

My mobo have an OC menu that allows ultra-easy OC of the processor, memories and PCIE freq....

486 running stable.. i had 500+ but it was too much nbcore
post #749 of 810
bump.. anyone got 513mhz or more stable fsb with my specs?! thinking about 513( or more )x6,5 instead of 486 x 7.. whis would be 3.33 instead of 3.4 but should be a bit faster.. any experience?!
I have this chip on an Asus P5kc mobo with 8gb of Gskill DDR2-800 Ram. OC'ing this chip was extremely easy for me. I'm at 440FSB x 7.5 for a 3.3 OC. This is at 1.3 vcore. Temps around 73F with a Tuniq Tower cooler in an Antec 300 illusion case.

I have been told to lower my FSB as it is too high. Anyone care to comment on my OC? I didn't change anything other than manually setting DRAM timmings and voltage. I disabled speedstep, c1e support and spread spectrum...everything else on manual.

Not sure what other temps or voltages I should pay attention too....

Thoughts?
