So I've been a 750i FTW owner (first build
) for almost a year now, and I've finally decided to do some moderate overclocking
So far I've got my Q6600 at 3 GHz (9x333) with the following...
FSB - Memory Clock mode:
FSB - Memory Ratio:
This is all good with me, but I would like to try to find the best performance at 3 GHz by messing with the multi and the memory ratios. Problem is... when I change the multi to 8 and FSB to 1500, the system boots up to the EVGA logo, but then just hangs there forever. I can't enter BIOS or anything, I just have to reset the CMOS.
I tried upping the SPP to 1.45v, but that didn't do anything. I'm also running the SZ17 bios. Somewhere in the first 40 pages, I remember someone saying there was a FSB hole, but I'm not in that range (1600-1800), and I'm running the SZ17 BIOS which apparently patched the hole. I also remember someone saying that the 8x multi wouldn't work for them no matter what... maybe thats whats going on here?
