Srsly, is works about 50% of the time.
There is a large thread in XS's bandwidth section title "ATTENTION Dead D9 owners!" or something similar. I would link it but their site is down ATM. It's a poll and is a 50/50 shot, but if your sticks aren't working right you can freeze them. The cooking was suggested to me by someone on OCN. Mind you the sticks where not completely dead. They just did not run at rated speeds anymore. Freezing them normally helps. The first time I cooked a pair they didn't boot at all. Stock them in the freezer and back in action. Ever since, I've been watching the FS section and picking up cheap D9's when I can. Don't know if it works with other modules, but it prbly does as I've recently read threads that sticking mics and headphones can fix/improve sound quality.
