Push the pretty red button to restart adventure That sux on the reinstall, I avoid it at all costs. I've got an old emachine (6yrs) that I've never formatted or reinstalled Ws.

I was thinking it was windows since abunch of programs wouldnt save settings and kept asking to import them (nHancer). I also had no control of precision... all i have to say is atleast it booted and loaded profile 1 that way my fans were not on auto.

EDIT: Another problem... Windows keeps blocking the download when i try to download flash player. "publisher could not be verified"...
EDIT: still cant get flash player installed for internet explore... but its almost back to how it was. Im throwing my music on it and downloading all of my steam games again (some are downloading at 100 bytes lol). Still need to install graphics drivers, OCing tools and Crysis, Fallout 3 and crystastis (i need to finish this and hopfully it will let me update this time).
It sucks having a quad core that cant be OC'd. I can get my gpus to what they are in sig, but they are bottlenecked... if they werent, i would just leave my cpu how it is and mess with an i7. I have a feeling i7 is going to happen in the somewhat near future since my parents wont spot me the money for a q9550...
EDIT: the reason why it was lagging yesterday was because my fans were running at 1%? So im guessing it was being throttled... it seemed kinda hot lol

Okay, I got my water cooling system installed yesterday. It's a very cool looking system, and seems to work great so far.

Here are my maximum load temps with the CPU overclocked to 4.00ghz @ 1.4v

That is a 10 degree drop on all the cores. That doesn't seem to bad for an already pre-built water system.

Well, im stuck with my q9400 and 750i ftw for 3-6 months. There is no way i can get my hands on a q9550 at this time so i was wondering is there any other things to try and get this thing OC'd. Also, how high does my cpu need to be OC'd to not be a bottleneck and what must i do to get near that point and be stable at the same time?

EDIT: Im going to run 5 passes of IBT with everything stock and see if there are any errors (i did this before but i only completed 2).
EDIT: FAILED at stock speeds... currently running HCi memtest. 34% completed so far (running multiple instances so it finds errors faster).

I just thought I would post a reminder here: When you update your BIOS using an .iso file and you get nothing but a black screen after rebooting. Remember to simply press the "reset CMOS" button instead of almost vomiting on your keyboard thinking you just destroyed your 750i.

those are idle temps But those idle temps are great for the volts you're cranking down that chip. but glad you got that water kit up and running!

If you look at maximum temp, you will see that he was getting around 56c.

Anyways, im still trying to find out why it freezes. It BSOD when i was running HCi memtest... Im guessing it is the ram since voltages are sufficent to run at stock speeds. Looks like im heading out to buy ram tomorrow... this time i wont let the guy at microcenter give me some memory because it is on sale... Anyone have any suggestions for a nice set (2x2gb since this mobo doesnt like OCing with all 4 slots filled)? I only want to spend $80 max (unless it would be in my best intrest to pay more). I would also prefer that it is black instead of a flashy gold. I want to try and stick to a few colors instead of it looking like its built out of legos

If you look in that screen shot, under maximum core temps, you will see that the maximum load temps recorded were as follows:

Core 0: 55C
Core 1: 56C
Core 2: 56C
Core 3: 57C

These temps were from IntelBurnTest, which seems to produce much higher load temps than most, if not all stress tests.
