This may seem strange, but is it possible for an overclock to cause increased ping in gaming? Currently having issues with a game I play, and trying to rule this out as a possibility.
post #2753 of 2885
Just got this board. Messed around with a little overclocking, things seem a lot different from my asus board. A couple questions.
Under votages I see CPU Core which I assume is vcore and CPU FSB, anyone know exactly what that is and should I mess with it or leave it on auto.

Right now I can only get 3.0ghz to post. I had to set the ram to unlinked as I couldn't get anything to post with it synced.

Still trying to figure it all out. Lots of options which is nice.

Any one out there got any advice on this board with a q6600. Trying to hit at least 3.2ghz.

I set the ram to unsync so it will run at 800mhz. (I think this is right)

Set the fsb to 1420, 1425, tried a bunch of different ones. Ramped up the voltages, vcore tried 1.45, ramped up the fsb voltage to 1.4 as I have seen elsewhere.

But I can't get into windows, most the time the bios doesn't even fully load.

1600mhz fsb linked and synced, that will give you 800mhz ram.
8x multiplier = 3.2GHz cpu
cpu voltage? not sure on that one, start high and bring it down later.
FSBv = 1.35
SPPV = 1.4
nf200 = 1.2

gtlref 0 = auto
gtlref 1 = auto
gtlref 2 = 50
gtlref 3 = 25

make sure you set your ram voltage and timings MANUALLY to manufacturers specs.

bummer, no go. I even upped the vcore to 1.5 Bios wouldn't even fully load. Man do I just have a weak chip. I gotta be doing something wrong here.

All I did for that was put vcore @ 1.35 and raise fsb to 1333. Unlinked.

Everything else on auto.

For those of you who have set up a RAID configuration, how can I tell which SATA port is which?

According to the manual the two near the bottom is SATA A0 and A1, and the two near the RAM slots are B1 and B0. But in the BIOS, the SATA ports are labeled SATA 0 Primary/Secondary and SATA 1 Primary/Secondary.

So how do I tell which is A0, A1, B0, B1? I'm only planning to use two ports for RAID.

*EDIT*
Nevermind, they're labeled in the BIOS.

It's just that they weren't on the manual before I turned the computer on.
