Hey guys a little help if you can with my 750i overclocked system..

Using the latest EVGA Bios

Im trying to get to 4.0 Ghz and have my ram (8G Mushkin) syat at least 1000Mhz. (Prefer more but i dont think 8gig will handle it)..

CPU: Q9550
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 1200 ESA
GPU: Dual GeForce GTX 480 (SLI)

Current CPU Freq: 3.825
CPU Multiplier: 8.5
FSB - Memory Clock Mode [unlinked]
FSB - QDR, Mhz [1800]
Mem-DDR,Mhz [1000]

(Memory timings below are all recommended by Mushkin)
Ram is Mushkin 996619
Memory Timing: 5-5-5-15-2t
Trrd, trc, twr, twtr, trf: 4,31,6,11,7.8us

VOLTAGES

CPU Core [1.36250v]
CPU FSB: [1.25v, had it at 1.30v for months, trying to see if stable lower]
Memory: [2.00v, down from 2.150v ^^^^]
Nforce SPP: [1.55]
NF200 Voltage Level [1.45v]

Gtlref 0-3, all [+35mv]

CPU Fast Read [auto]
LTD Freq [5x]

All Spread Spectrums Disabled.

System Note: CPU is watercooled with Swiftech Pump and Apogee Cooler. Temps are as follows: (At Idle)

Core 0 - 99F
Core 1 - 99F
Core 2 - 90F
Core 3 - 90F

Under load High is 129F at 100% CPU Usage.

I also have active cooling on all the Ram slots, NB Fan, 3 case fans

Any recommendations would be greatley helped.

Also 1 more not, i did not do the vdroop mid.

Thanks

Do the vdroop mod I got mine to where there was basically no vdroop. It will helpmwith your overclock. Also what temps are youbat in Celsius?

750i + 4 sticks of ram = poor overclocking
750i + Ram over 800MHz = poor overclock....

Do this, set ram to 800 with 2 sticks in, then raise the QDR as high as you can get it stable, probably in the 1800 range (450 x 8.5 = 3.825) I have seen some get higher, but most will hit a wall right around there...

Once you find the max of the cpu/fsb then you can try raising the Ram freq and adding more sticks...

Im at 3.825 Right now with 4 sticks (8GB).. So it can be done... Im Totally stable too... But i want to break that magic 4 ghz...

The vdroop mod may be the key for me. I did it once and my board died, so im hesitant.

Don't be afraid to use 1.55v NB. You'll need it with a quad and 4 dimms if you want 4Ghz.

Is that the NF200 Voltage? Plus should i throw an active fan on the heat pipe to the left of the cpu? I have that asus fan going (the black triangular one) at 100%
