He doesn't know what to do for this... and hes using the drivers from synaptic package manager
He is using following from synaptic package mananger
nvidia-kerne-common
nvidia-xconfig
nvidia-settings

He needs to open up a terminal, and run the following command:
sudo nvidia-xconfig
Then he will need to enter his password, and assuming all the correct files are there, the Nvidia configuration will set up his Xorg file. If not, he will need to download the drivers from the Nvidia site (this is recommended), and make the file executable. For example:
chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.12.pkg1.run (This will make the file executable if it isn't already.)
./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.12.pkg1.run (This will execute the same file and install the driver. The "./" specifies that you are running a file in the current directory.)
Depending on the behavior of the driver installer, you may or may not have to run the "nvidia-xconfig" setup routine.
To restart the X server, you can do one of the following:
Log of, Reboot, or Press CTRL+ALT+Backspace
