Yeah, newegg is great about their RMA for open box items. I just sent back two asus mobos that were open box because I found a different deal I liked a lot better. That being said both Asus OB boards I got had nothing but the board, so I wouldn't expect anything else either. If you absolutely have to have the I/O shield you can get the Maximus Extreme shield from asus store for 8 bucks. Good luck on your purchase man, I've so far had turd all for luck on my new build. I'm moving onto my fourth board now (second abit ix-38).
