Arg Leak!

Thread Starter

Blarg, how do I defend against this leak? I tried plumbers tape, hmmm ... I see some rubber washers are missing. The other question is, what is the best way to drain this thing? (Need to cut my hose lengths down anyway).

There should just be a single O-ring on the barb. If plumbers tape isn't working, you can seal it with epoxy or JB Weld.

Best way to drain... unmount your res and turn it upside down!

...or RMA.
Once again...

Put a T in your lowest line somewhere and a foot or two of tubing on it for a drain line, cap it with something like a brass plug...

I always take my o-rings off and use Permatex red RTV sealant or clear silicone on the threads, you can tighten them up pretty good and the let it dry a couple of days before you use them...Clean them off with some rubbing alcohol before you put anything on them, then just put it on the top 2/3's of the threads so you wont get any in the rad or blocks, after their dry don't turn them anymore or you'll break the seal...

I had a good leak the other day. Pulled the back off my reservoir because I'm an idiot. It about 3/4 full.
