A question to all you waterblock 'buffs' out there

Hi guys this is mainly aimed at those that mill their own blocks etcetc.

i am doing some research and i am just wanting to know what is the optimum thickness for the bottom of the waterblock?

and also what is the best for heat transfer pins or chanels or what?

Any help will be great thanks

That depends on the type of milling above.

My Micro/Macro channels have a 1.75mm thick base. The slots are 0.18mm and the fins are 0.82mm. The height of the fins in 5.50mm +/- 0.03. I have a CNC machine.

Rttv = 0.13 overall

Milling needs to be high spindle speed, slow indexing each path at 0.4mm deep cuts at a time.
