8GB (2X2GB) of flashing, black pcb, Crucial Ballistix Tracers

Thread Starter

Got two sets of (2X2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400 BL2KIT25664AL804 Crucial Ballistix Tracers.

I really wanted black PCB, flashing LEDs, and 8GB of total RAM with a little room to do a bit of overclocking.

I figured buying two sets now was better than buying 4GB now and 4GB later at least in terms of keeping the memory on the same sort of performance aspect for overclocking.

Now I just have to find a better way to keep that northbridge cool as most people seem to say 8GB of RAM will really put some stress on it.

I am going to use this computer for server functions (virtualization and such) so the extra RAM will be a help. This memory will be going in a DFI Lanparty LT P35-T2R and using the Q6600 for the brains of the operation.

You should be fine with running that ram with the P35 chipset! I dont think you will have to worry too much about cranking up the vdimm, and the NB should handle 4 modules just fine...

I expect to hear detailed [overclocking] results from this awesomeness, particularly since my DFI hates having more than two slots populated.
