I don't think you can counter with a libel suit. These apparently aren't baseless allegations.

Well a libel suit does presume that these are baseless allegations.

If the finding is in favor of Intel, and I was Intel, I'd consider a libel suit. In the day and age of global marketing, a poor reputation could cause serious financial damages.

'course, my understanding of business law and law in general is very slim. I'm definitely no expert.

Seriously?

200,000,000 pages of documents? I'd hate to see their toner budget.

you think AMD would do all this just on a limb? their reputation will go down a crap load if this was just a bunch of made up crap. fan bizzle

edit: your also basically saying you would rather intel be allowed to continue doing this, if it is going on of course, just because you don't want AMD to do well by protecting their business

I'm sure this does go on, but if AMD was having greater sales than Intel, and Intel was still doing this, I don't think AMD would care.

I'm sure it was, but when your in a hole like AMD you will do anything to get out.

Maybe they kept their mouth's shut about it all too long? Maybe thats part of the reason they are in such a mess.

NO BUSINESS = loss of money.

No brainer.

Ahahaha..

It said that AMD is looking for court protection from actions that amount to discounting and other lawful forms of price competition. "AMD's complaint about Intel's discounting boils down to a compliant that Intel is a more efficient competitor," Intel stated in its filing
If it turns out that Intel is indeed doing these illegal actives, that is such a dick thing to say.

Amd has been slipping ever since they merged with ati. mostly because they were focusing there resources on making Ati competative. It took them over a year but they have done an outstanding job of that. The down side is they fell behind in the Cpu market. This lawsuit has been around before Amd took a real s**t and it is not just in the US japan and the EU are both investigating Intel on the same bases, as well as severel other countries

Even if Intel was secretly scheming, AMD still needs to realize that the primary reason that companies aren't buying their chips is that Intel's are much better (at the moment). It's not that I'm trying to defend Intel, but it seems to me that AMD is making a big scene about a little thing - assuming that AMD isn't just bs-ing the whole thing.

This isnt about that.. This is in an ongoing legal battle that AMD and Intel have been having for years.
