I need a game that can keep me occupied for 4 more years of my life like WoW did.

I would consider myself lucky if I was you lol... They might have been 18+, but acted like they were 12-14. These are my personal experiences though.

I am eagerly awaiting this game. I am sick of WoW and I couldn't get into LOTRO. I need an adult mmorpg that isn't kill, collect, turn in, repeat.

I'll be honest with you and say that I love the quest/single player mode they start you out with in AoC. It has a very nice story to go along with. Most of the quests I have done so far haven't been your typical go kill x number of creature and bring me back their body parts. Don't get me wrong there are a few of those, but they are for a greater purpose. Most are even involved with the story line to make a potion or for some spell or something along those lines. At the same time I've tried the PVP out and must admit that I find it a bit clumsy. Meaning its not very free flowing and a bit cumbersome. I think because of the way the combos are played out. You press a skill/ability and then you have to press another button that makes the actual combo/skill activate. So if you’re used to the press auto attack and sit back and watch it die… that’s totally not it. There isn’t any auto attack feature in this game lol. Which is cool IMO. Anyway I think the game looks good… there are performance issues, but overall it’s a fun game to play both single player and grouped PvE combat.

I've played WoW for 3 years. Closed beta for about 8 months.. I think WoW is an amazing game with great potential, but after blizzard started raking in the cash they never really hit home with the things they said they were going to do. THey have enough money to add a lot of content and do many unique things with the game.. they just wont. The community fanbase *****es about every pvp patch.. so it leaves for a nasty taste in my mouth. The Item grind in WoW.. is terrible. Raiding can be fun, but the loot tables are a joke, and of course they wont fix them.. it makes them money.

I enjoy AoC because honestly.. there is a very unique feeling to it. The combat is a pretty fun system for me lee(not that great for spellcasters), open pvp, and a pretty decent quest story line. Usually i don't care about a story line, but the opening solo tortage bit.. is actually pretty fun. If anything this game reminds me of DAoC mixed with a bit of Diablo2, and a hint of UO. An mmo is an mmo... they're all going to follow some linear progression towards the same style of end game, but i think this game will keep me busy for at least 6 months.. unless they are religious about updating the game.. i don't think it will be a WoW killer. Besides.. half the 13 year old wow players don't have rigs decent enough to play it :/.
