Intel E2180 - OC!

Thread Starter
Right let me start by saying I am aware there are numerous threads on this processor, I have overcl****ed a little, but need some help getting higher speeds.

This is my current setup

Intel E2180
4GB Corsair Dominator Ram (5-5-5-15, 2.1v)
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Zalman Reserator Watercooling (CPU+GPU)
Inno3d nVidia 8800GT (OC as standard)

Here are my current CPU-Z stats...

Now I have tried going to 3.0GHz but it blue screens, I can up the CPU voltage to a tad higer than 1.5v but I really do not know what im doing there, also I was told to run my RAM at 1:1, I again dont know how to do this, according to CPU-Z I am running at 1:2.

Could anyone give me a hand with this one?

Much appreciated, ILMV

What speed is your memory at stock? If it's 800mhz then the memory is too high, lower it and then crank up the FSB to 300-330

he is running pc8500 .....

that vcore seems very high for 2.8ghz ...though 1-1 might help get higher clocks

Oh forgot to look . Anyways try upping the northbridge voltage. Don't go more than 1.45-1.47 in CPU-Z.

Wow...that's a lot of voltage. While I know that not ever chip overclocks the same but I can hit 3Ghz with 1.44 before vdroop (1.36 after - yes, it's that bad).

Fire up Core Temp and see what your VID is.

1:2 ratio is far too high, your memory is already likely to be at it's absolute limit, and I would be quite surprised if it's fully stable where it is now.

A 1:1 ratio is unnecessarily low. You should use whatever ratio gets you to around 500MHz (1000ddr) on the memory.

I'm not sure what the memory ratio setting is called in the DS3's BIOS, but if you've read the manual, it should be pretty straight forward. Could be DRAM speed, DRAM ratio, ect.

If you don't know how the ratios work, you should seriously consider reading some guides/FAQs (some good ones can be found right here at OCN) before attempting any serious OC.

3.4ghz is great !!!!!!!

only a select few 21xx pass that & have good temps. @1.496 your pretty much at the limit for air
mine will run 3.4ghz on a x10 multi but the vcore needed on my chip is astronomical ....far too hot
