k i have a spare rig which currently has duel 7600gt's in sli i can get a 7900gtx for £59 trade with my 7600's just want to know what you guys think i have duel 8800gts (g92's) in my sig rig so i dont need it for that.

my spare rig im gonna use for folding once i get a new roughter also gonna use it to lan cod4/bf2 etc..

is it worth the trade to get a 7900gtx what would you guys do ?

7900GTX is slighly better than 7600GT SLI. If price is right and your still do dx9, why not.

I'm not sure what the performance difference would be between SLI 7600's and a single 7900GTX so I can't opine on that. However, I can't see BF2 and COD4 being too much for a 7900GTX to handle. If I had to go out on a limb, I'd say the 7900GTX would outperform the 7600's SLI'd. SLI only gives you like 35-50% performance gain anyway - hence, I haven't had an SLI rig since 2006.

Check out the VGA charts at Tomshardware - they may have the cards listed.

well i got it installed ran 3d mark 06 and gained a measly 100 points over my sli setup but in games they look godly almost as good as my 8800's 4x aa on cod4 1280x1024 85htz bf2 is running faster at the same res than before and seems to respond a lot quicker all i need now is a roughter setup and ill have a rig i can use as a cod4 host server plus also use it for folding thanks to those who replied.

7600GT SLI is slightly better than a 7950GT. From that, a 7900GTX will be better than 7600GT SLI. However, if you have to £59 for the upgrade.... ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT!

IF anything, sell your both your 7600GTs and just get a single 8800GT for around £120. This will perform twice as well as a 7900GTX or 7600GT SLI.
Once again...

a 7900GTX is plenty for COD4 or BF2, believe me...I've played both on my former card, a 7900GT, and it maxed BF2...played high settings with no AA on COD4...honestly, my 7900 was great for all the games I played, but lets see it try to do all high settings and 16xAA 16xAF on TF2 and still get 80 fps easily

plus with that trade, you got twice as much vram!

Why don't you make a volt mode on both of your 7600 cards and OC them to da max
Anyways, i'd rather go for 7900.
