~ My Amazing OverKill - 4.2Ghz ~

Thread Starter
After i spend over a mounth to learn about my system pars (memory, mainbaord, CPU, GPU, fans, sluppy pwoer)
i successfully up my E8200 to 4197 Mhz !!
for me, with stok cool CPU (intel) its a big accomplishment : )

i really can say that i am very very satisfied from my Moutherboard P35 Platinum Combo.
and i like to share with you all MSI members my new personal record

here the full detials abot my OC:

CPU -

Core speed: 4205 Mhz
Multiplier: x8 (Locked)
Bus speed: 525 Mhz
Rates FSB: 2102 Mhz

Memory -

Ratio Memoy: 1:1
Frequency: 525X2 = 1050 Mhz
DRAM : 6-6-6-22
CAS latency : 6.0 Clocks
RAS to CAS delay : 6 Clocks
RAS Precharge : 6 Clocks
Cycle Time : 22 Clocks

Voltage -

Core Voltage: 1.4000 V
Memory Voltage: 2.3 V
VTT FSB Votage: 1.300 V
NorthBridge(NB) Votage: 1.500 V
SB Votalge: defults ,1.5, 1.05 (if i mestik i will edit my post)

Temperatures -

CPU Idle: around 38-40 degrees
CPU Load: around 55-58 degrees (Check again to be sure)
System Temp: 37 degrees stabel
GPU: 47 degees (Not important anyway)

Fan speed -
CPU Fan: 1950 RPM
System Fan: 1050 RPM

Finally the results of this OC -

Plz send commend :]

Are you ocing in the bios or using the msi tool? Also how long have you orthos'ed it?

That Vcore is gonna kill ur CPU, drop it below 1.37.

And also, beware that a lot of people have fried there 45nm's with a high voltage.
1.45 vCore in BIOS is max (according to Intel) for these chips, but people have fried them with just a bit over 1.4v (and seeing as CPU-Z shows 1.44v, it probably about 1.5ish in the bios).

Ram voltage seems high too (wouldn't go over 2.3v on DDR2).

EDIT: Got ninja'd!

that vcore is going to ruin your CPU very soon. you'd better lower it to something below 1.37v or your CPU will be fried next week. 45nm are very fragile compared to 65nm. USe core temp to get the real temperatures and ar eyou sure its stabl;e have you tested it in Orthos running large FFTs for around 8 hours otherwise it might not be a stable OC.

also post the specs of your PC in USer control panel and then press edit system

Yeah. those voltages are very high. i hope you dont intend to run this 24/7.

But meh, its a successful overclock i imagine, so congrats.

Good Job..Like the others...hope it don't fry anything..

Like stated, only run that Vcore for benching.

And holy cripes! 2.4v for the memory. That's insane man, most memory can handle up to 2.3V!

2.4 should not be necessary for 1050mhz!

Drop your voltages or you will have some fried components in the following weeks.

Also, the 4.2 doesn't count unless it is 7 hours Orthos stable

I keep seing non 45nm owners tell owners of 45nm chips that 1.4 volts will kill the chip... Hmmmm I have seen a ton of people post that they use 1.4 or higher for 24/7 me IMO I wouldnt go over 1.37 either for 24/7 but I do allot of benching at 1.48 almost everyday for an hour or so..
