Good Low Price AMD

Thread Starter
Hi, Im building a pc for my brother and decided to go with amd since its cheaper. The two main games he play are Assassins Creed and WoW (On my pc). I dont really deal with AMD much(but i know they are good) so I was wondering if you guys could tell me what a good low price AMD processor is that can handle AC.

Thanks,

Bound

I just played Assassin's Creed last night with my computer(in the signature), and even with just 2.4ghz, it played fine. It became a little choppy with large crowds, or when a large environment was in focus, but I attribute that to the video card, and not the CPU.

This is the processor that I'm using atm: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103258

And with the graphics card that you're running I can do assassin's creed maxed at 1680*1050 (no AA) great. Runs with 2x AA too but it definately takes a hit in framerate. Still playable though. But this is at 3ghz, not sure about at stock.
WoW runs fine too.

i would say just go with the AMD X2 5000 Black Edition, its enough processing power at stock speeds and its really easy to overclock if u feel ur bro needs more juice. I bought two of them, 1 for my bro's PC and 1 for a friends PC and i have had no trouble OC'ing them to 3.1
