[BioWare] Mass Effect PC port DRM scheme worse than BioShock - Page 9

I intend to download a copy, as I have purchased a copy for my XBOX 360, which has since broken.

When I buy a piece of bread, I can put it in any toaster I want. Gaming should be no different. I bought my copy, Bioware got their money. I require an additional copy to enjoy my product. In fact I intend to e-mail bioware + EA informing them I am doing this, including my full name, address and IP address.

Just watch. A large majority of the people playing Mass Effect will be using pirated versions. Everyone else decided not to get it because of the anti pirate rules.

This will be used against us. We ported Mass Effect to the pc and everyone stoled it from us. I can see it now...

If they give you a reply let us know what they have to say. While your at it why don't you write to Microsoft about replacing your 360.

Uh. Your Xbox broke. That's not Bioware's fault.

Except for the fact that this isn't a piece of bread; it's a piece of software that a company has put a lot of effort into. It's not their fault that the vessel used to play their game broke. If you want to play it on PC, then buy the game for PC. Otherwise, ship M$ their busted POS and make them fix it. For free. Within a few weeks. I promise you you will not die waiting for it to come back. Or, sell back your 360 copy of it and use that towards the PC version.

Ohhh wait, we're still talking about bread aren't we? You could always go to the supermarket and just take some more of the same kind because you've already given the company money for it at one point or another. Wait. Wait, no. That's stealing. My bad.

Honestly I didn't think this was such a big deal until I read the entire story. This is such a bad idea, I can't believe they would allow something like this. After purchasing a game I should be able to geek it out anytime I see fit, with or without an internet connection. such a crock

If he no longer intends to use the 360 version, and obtains the PC version, he is not stealing. It's just like reinstalling a game after you bought a new PC.

Forcing a customer to buy multiple copies of the same game to run on different systems is stealing, however.

I agree that people shouldn't have to buy multiple copies, but then again nobody is forcing him to buy the PC version. Downloading is illegal- that's all there is to it. Just torrenting a copy of it would be great, but with the state that PC gaming is in currently, I don't think anyone pirating anything is going to help.
