e6600 55c Load??

Thread Starter
After 30 minutes of running orthos w/ blended settings, my chip is running 55c...
vcore is 1.3875, with a speed of 3000Mhz. I just applied AS5 with a zalman CNPS9500.

Isn't this a little high? Offers to solutions & comments appreciated.

With that Vcore, No I don't think it is that high it seems about right. Mine runs about 63 with a 1.43 vcore.

I think that is high for a blend test. What were your ambients at the time?

AS5 does need some time to cure, but I feel you should be under 50C.

If you havent already check out the application guide from Arctic Silver.

maybe alittle. but its not terrible. that zalman is ok, you could get some better temps with a better h/s, but the zalman should do. i actually had that model on a e6550. hows your airflow in the case? how many fans, and how are they setup? your temps might go down a degree or 2 once the as5 cures. how is you wiremanagement? if you zip tie your wires, make your case nice and neat, your temps will drop alittle.

It was the minimum vcore I could use to get 3Ghz stable. 55c seemed high. Is there a rule of thumb for this chip in reguards to a temperature I should not exceed??

Also, is there somehow I can increase the speed of the chip without increasing the FSB?

Can you provide us a screen shot of your temperature?

Mind you, I left my case wide open in case I have to reset the cmos...

Wires and everything are nice and clean, airflow runs front to back. CPU fan is turned up all the way, have 3 other fans running, including one that outputs the airflow out the top of my case.
