[EA] Mirror's Edge..The Crysis Killer? - Page 14

It reminds me of the first time I saw virtua cop. Looks like something you'd see in the arcades back when.
It certainly looks interesting, if a little bland on the buildings front.

Biggest concern : It'll be on-rails linear.
Second biggest concern: Motion sickness from all that head bobbing.

After reading more about this game in magazine's this won't even be a Crysis nuisance.......it's one of those where I'll download the demo, play for 15 minutes, think it's a interesting concept, then uninstall and move on with my life.
I understand some people was disappointed with Crysis (I was disappointed with the MP for SURE, hackers), but Crysis was an amazing game for SP. The physics, graphics, and sheer playability was amazing. People never really gave credit to the innovation that is the suit.....sure other games have done similar ideas, but Crysis made the suit have nearly flawless controls, and it felt really natural.

Yeah, I could care less about Crysis... I didn't buy it, never plan to, didn't even think it was that much fun, but it was a amazing technological achievement.

It's amazing what Crysis can render in real-time. Now we just need hardware to play catch up.

I don't understand what you mean, Crysis was built to be unoptimized on purpose or their programmers are retarded. Lets just say that im much more impressed with what TF2 and COD4 can render in real time than Crysis yet I get 5X the fps in TF2 and COD4 than Crysis.

I hope they understand that would completely and utterly destroy the potential of this game. (IMO)

Game looks cool, interesting concept. Too linear. Also, its made by EA, which made me shudder when I saw their logo.

ever played TF2? No? Didn't think so. Cartoons are the entire theme of TF2 graphics

The gameplay looks like a crapped-up version of Assassin's Creed... But I shall see for sure after I play a demo of it.

I disagree that it was so unoptimized. What? You had an 8800GTX and couldn't max it out like you could with HL2 or FEAR? Wow, big shock, because HL2/FEAR maxed is not even in the same league as Crysis maxed. Same thing with medium settings, Crysis medium looks better then HL2 medium. If you thought that you could get similar FPS in Crysis as you did in ANY other game EVER, then you are stupid. Sorry.

I only played a little Crysis, and I wasn't disappointed by the settings or framerate at all for the machine it was running on. I played for about 2 hours, and it ran fine and looked beautiful. And I thought it was rather fun (although I hear that it gets really lame once you reach a certain point), just like Far Cry with some additions. Love the open tropical setting.

I'm not a fanboy of it, but I'm kind of tired of people complaining about it being "so unoptimized" because they can't run it on high settings like they can any other game. Well that's because Crysis high does not equal Half-Life 2 high. They're not the same.

There simply isn't an emoticon to properly convey my level of absolute shock. When did EA grow a pair big enough to decide to take a chance on something that innovative? Was it Portal? Assassin's Creed? Which game did EA see that made them realize that yet another cookie cutter Madden simply wouldn't do anymore? I'm stunned.

Of course, if they pull that console only crap or release the game with the normal amount of bugs usually present in an EA game they could still redeem themselves as true and epic failures. Will be keeping an eye out.
If you're referring to BF2/BF2142 when you mention the bugs (since everyone complains about bugs in those games), that wasn't EA's doing, that was Dice. I don't know why people blame EA, all EA did was put it in a box and market it. Everything behind the game and technology was all Dice, so blame them if you're going to blame anyone.

I also don't know why people say EA is uncreative. I mean, what do you want them to do with their Madden football games? Add new features? You can't change the game of football, so all you can really do it tweak the graphics and add some minor features and little mini games, which is what they do (same with the baseball and soccer games they make).

Also, I don't think EA made this game or even came up with the idea for it, once again it was probably DICE.

I don't understand why some people complain about all these things, I guess they're just the "hip" thing to whine about on the internet. Crysis, EA, Windows/Microsoft, Apple, Dell, Sony, etc.

That's the end of my rant(s).
