Q9300 is the budget chip to get. OC's better than q6600 with air at least.

Amazon has it, but kinda pricy. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00180FTOI/...I&linkCode=asn

Here is a list of Q9450 and some of them are much cheaper than amazon.

On a regular basis? I've only seen Q9450 doing about 3.4-3.5GHz on a regular basis. You can't always look at the best chips and expect to get the same. And FYI, for a Q9300 to overclock higher, you'll need a very strong motherboard. Please provide explanation with your claims or it's worthless.

They're heck of a lot better for the money. Q6700 has been hitting 3.8-4.0GHz for 24/7 fairly easily for most. That 10x multiplier sure help for quads, especially on nVidia chipsets.

Well, i have the S II E w/ the 790i chipset (i'll be WCing as well), and all im waiting on is the processor. i wanted the q9450 because of the 45nm, but im not against saving a $100 bux. I just feel like the q9450 still has potenial to get better with new bios firmwares for my mobo and stuff, where as the q6700's being out for a while have hit their peak....maybe im wrong???
