Questions Regarding Fans!

Thread Starter
Going to get a armor+ and i had a few questions regarding its fans. If you need any info just post a question. If you want to add any suggestions go for it.
Questions!
1.)Will having leds on the Tuniq Tower fan look cool or would it be hard to even notice?
2.)What would be a good fan controller that i could use?
3.)If i should add any fans where would they benefit airflow the most?
4.)Will i get good airflow throughout the case?
5.)What do you guys recommend on what fans to replace stock with for basicaly all slots?

Here are some specs regarding fans
General-all fans must be black, clear, or blue and not be untolerably loud like deltas*_*
Intake
Front-14 cm fan, please pick one with blue led's.
Side-23 cm fan, not sure if switching out stock one is good idea give me your thoughts.
Bottom-2x 14 cm fans.
Exaust
Rear-12 cm fan.
Top-12 cm fan, please pick one with blue led's.
Neutral
Tuniq Tower-12 cm fan, if yes to question 1 please pick one with blue led's.
HD cage-14 cm.
Fan Controller-must be black with blue leds.

Stock isn't that bad, I'm just staying with air for now because water is a bit too expensive for me.
If you want more fans, I suggest you don't go with LED, they make my head hurt, but it's your choice.
It doesn't really matter much where you place the fans, as long as you think it'll help your airflow, and there's room, go for it.
Fan controller...
Just look on Newegg, read some reviews and pick the one you think is best for you.

I can tell you the Sunbeam Rheobus fan controller has red LEDs and then changes to Blue once you turn the fans up past a certain point. I also replaced all my stock fans with 92mm Vantec Tornados (even the one on my ACF7Pro) and I noticed a nice temp difference in CoreTemp, as well as my video card (I guess b/c of better airflow inside the case).

I guess I like having those fans because I know exactly what I have, and what I'm dealing with. My Thermaltake case came with one 120mm fan, and it didn't even show how many CFM it would do. I don't like leaving things to chance

I'll go ahead and point out that you don't need a 14cm fan in most of those places that support them - you can also use a 120mm fan, and you've got a much better variety to choose from. That being said, it's your call as to what fan size you want to use. The side fan I would leave alone, they're pretty hard to find, and not honestly worth replacing.

For any place you need a 120mm blue LED fan pick up either a Zalman ZM-F3BL or Yate Loon D12SM-124UB/D12SH-124UB.

Any place you want a 140mm fan (LED or non-LED), the Aerocool Streamliner fans are pretty much your only option. I've never used one myself though, and can't vouch for them.

And last (but certainly not least) anywhere you want a good, reasonably quiet 120mm fan, look into the Noctua NF-P12 or Scythe S-Flex SFF21F. They're the best quiet 120mm fans I know of.

For the fan controller, I'd probably pick up either the Zalman MFC1 Plus, Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme, Scythe Kaze Master, or possibly the older Sunbeam Rheobus.

A bump is usually 24hs btw.

Anyways, here's my go at it.

1) Only for the front I'd say. (looking at pics, never owned an armor)
2) Many people like the Sunbeam one, including myself, because it's 20w per channel an looks good, nice blue on the LED's
3) Intake and CPU cooler
4) Wouldn't know, but I'd assume so, like the Antec 900 (only thing I can possibly compare it to that I've seen in person.)
5) I love the Scythe Slip Stream series and the Kaze, they push a lot of air at low dB.

I'd go with all Slip Streams (ones that suit your dB fancy) and maybe some Hyper's for the blue LED's on 'em.

Hope that helps!

Good info from F3t1sh here, I would just add the following...

5) I also love the Slipstreams and would recommend the 1600rpm version that pushes 88cfm (you can run it at lower speeds as needed. Just note that due to the fan blade design, these do not push air as well thru heatsinks or behind filters as some other fans do. The Ultra Kaze 2000 is very sweet too and pushes tons of air anywhere you put it…but be warned it is a 120mmx38mm fan and may not fit in some places that require x25mm! I have one on my CPU cooler due to the high pressure they provide and run it at 1750rpm and I cannot hear it outside my case (mounting it right will help with the noise too!) Finally, you can also look at the Scythe S-Flexs, primarily the F and E models. These have super long lives and push good air too due to their fan blade design. On my rig, I have the 2 S-Flexs as intakes on the front, the Ultra Kaze on my CPU and the Slipstream as back top exhaust in a free flow setup (meaning there is no filter in front of or behind).

Good luck and let us know what you go with!!
