Not true. The 9800GTX is actually more powerful than both but regardless, the question was whether he should upgrade from a G92 GTS.

I think for you, the most obvious upgrade path would be to a 9800GX2 or a HD3870X2 as those are the only single card solutions that would offer a performance boost. However, If you feel you won't be able to to get an acceptable offer for your current 8800GTS, get an SLI board and get another one.

It's basically the same card.. Just clock your GTS, compare gpu-z screens and benchmarks and I'm sure you will more than call it a day.
