New Build... Help Please - Page 2

Do take the 6700 over the 6600 at this point. I would still wait on a DDR3 board; I know it's coming down, but we haven't entered the 'zone' yet with that memory and its market, and probably won't for at least a year. $200 might get you DDR3, but in a year $200 will get you smoking DDR3.

Finally, I don't know if you've purchased your display, but the 1080p projectors have come down in price and up in quality. You could play 1920x1080 native on a 130" screen in a room that's only semi-darkened for $2200. Not bad, since two years ago it was $15000+.

I have a 720p projector, it rocks hard. I use it 24/7 for PC, TV, and console gaming, all with one convenient input remote.

As far as I'm concerned DDR2 is last gen, if I had the cash I would take the DDR3 route I think. However your selection on mobo's will be more limited, and if you're not going to SLI an Intel chipset motherboard would be better.

q6700 fo sho. (P35s are mainly cheap, you wont need to save up.)
