8800 GTS 512 Temps issues - Page 2

53C is really cool. Plenty of headroom temp wise. GPUs can handle a lot more heat that CPUs.

Cool.

At the moment my GPU Core is 730mhz and the Vram is 1010mhz

So will it be ok to bump it up to 740mhz Core and 1020mhz vram

yeh these cards run really cool. - i run the fan on 55% or it sounds like a power sander... but if i turn it up to 100% i load at 48.

You have a lot of headroom to overclock a bit more, just make sure you check for artifact's after each overclock

there is no way you are loading at 49C. even with my fans at 100% and my lapped coolers i still get about 55C. what program are you using to see your temps.
my buddys loads at 52c

use Furmark for max temp and oc stability

I idle at 40c and load at 49c

Cool I must admit the GPU fan does sound like a rocket ship. lol

What's your ambient temp though? My comp is right by the window and i'm getting 50 C gpu on load and 40ish on idle, only because my window's open and amb temp is about 10-15.

My vid card: 8800gts 640 oc, overclocked to 702 core and 1458 shader

You have more then enough room, just push the clocks as much as your vcore on your card allows. The card will be ok all the way to 80c on load. After that its not good anymore, but still doable. On of my cards only goes to 740 (vcore issue probably) but my other can do 765 np and its at 65c, with the fan on 100% ofc. Also, push that ram some more!

I've had my MSI at 784/1905/1001 at 45C idle and 63 Load (Rivia Tuner) without any artifacting while running ATI tool for over 3 hrs. The stock dual slot coolers work very well. Love that it pushes warm air out of the case. You have plenty of head room. The G92's on the GTS's are the best overclockers I have found so far.
