yea i did and i still get a blank screen.

I was only able to install with SATA turned off. When SATA is turned off, the drive shows up in the installation process as 37.5 gigs(formating i guess). It installs through there and then it finishes but doesn't boot.

when i install with sata turned on, it doesn't see the drive at all. Maybe i should just download the iso and use my key? Would that be breaking the TOS on here being that im using a legit key just copying the software?

You could always just load Ubuntu. It just works and comes with all the software you will need. Try it out I am running it on the DV1000CTO no driver issues and everything just works. Here is the link to download a ISO and go. http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
Plus with Ubuntu Linux you don't need a cd key and you can give a copy to all your friends.

IT JUST WORKS!!
